We Need Better Politics

Too many people have lost faith in politics, political parties and politicians. Politicians fighting mock battles, taking up hypocritical stances and making false or misleading promises have contributed to widespread disillusionment. Too frequently politics seems to be more focused on the personality of individual politicians and their eccentricities than on the real issues that affect the wellbeing of us all.

Politics should be centrally concerned with the capacity of individual politicians, political parties and those in positions of political leadership to provide competent government and to implement the policies required to improve and protect the quality of life of all who reside on this island.

Essentially, We Need Better Politics. We do not simply need to change the faces of those in government. We need to change the way government conducts its business and how the Dail and the Seanad function. I want to see a more open, transparent accountable form of government. I want to see a government established which accepts that when citizens have a right to know, government has a duty to tell. I also want a government in place that no longer wastes hard earned tax payers’ money on ill-thought out and badly managed projects.

I want to transform the way we do our political business in Ireland.  I believe We Need Better Politics. If you believe that too, why not join our campaign for change?
